Transition to Adulthood
Never Stop Growing.
Research indicates there is an overwhelming number of young adults with special needs who lack meaningful relationships, jobs, and lives post high school. The Clubhouse is looking to change that fact, one young adult at a time.
The key to a successful transition is starting early. We understand that it is overwhelming for parents when it’s time to begin planning and preparing your son or daughter to transition into adulthood. But thanks to our multi-disciplinary team of Occupational, Physical, and Speech, we can make the process easier. More importantly, we’ll make sure your son or daughter has a plan that accounts for his or her dreams.
Turning Dreams into Goals.
The Clubhouse team takes a strengths-based approach to assisting with your child’s transition program. We look at skills and interest areas in order to address all components of adulthood. Our therapists also provide individual support to achieve the goals outlined in the transition plan. We treat in our state-of-the-art clinic where we have a fully functioning handicap accessible kitchen that’s equipped with a washer and dryer. We also coordinate treatment within the community and home in order to ensure generalization and carryover of skills.
Our program is grounded in both ABA and Structured Teaching (TEACCH) principles, which maximize independence and skill acquisition so your child can become as independent as possible. The end result is to help your child create meaning and independence in all components of adulthood including activities of daily living (ADLs), vocational skill building, structured employment, and social integration. We will help structure a positive environment that has the kind of supports in place to help your son or daughter thrive!
